"Pros: Lots of options on the menu. The drinks are nice, the hibiscus tea can be stronger in flavour. The portion size is substantial. Cons: The bag of doritos was hard to eat out of. The tacos tortillas were not firm enough to pick up the tacos to eat, they ripped easily and spilled everywhere. The most disappointing thing I note is the lack of spice. They display quite a few options for hot sauce for sale, but in reality only one almost empty bottle of red hot sauce is available while dining in."

"These tacos were as good as the ones my family made while we were in Ixtapan de la Sal. Highly recommended!"

"It's always nice to discover a gem by chance. Super delicious Mexican food in a cafe like setting. Everything tasted authentic to me. I had the chilaquiles with chicken and my wife had the tacos (and we finished off with some churros). They even had jamaica and horchata to drink as well..."

"I was so excited to discover this little local gem in Leichhardt! The tacos are made fresh and were absolutely delicious and you have to try the dorilocos, amazing! Really friendly people too - an all round delightful experience at Abe's! Highly recommend!"

"Slitting a bag of Doritos lengthwise and pouring in slow-cooked beef drizzled with sweet chipotle sauce and sour cream, then garnishing the lot with guacamole, pico de gallo (tomato salsa), coriander, and a squeeze of fresh lime, is a fabulous idea. Dorilocos ($16)—best on Flamin’ Hot Doritos—are a Mexican street-food tradition, sold to the young, and the young-at-heart, by pushcart vendors. You can eat them in Leichhardt at Abe’s Comida Mexicana thanks to Abraham Golski and his Mexican partner, Carolina Montesinos. With just a few indoor and street-side tables, this brightly decorated coffee shop has a short menu. There are tacos, sopes, and loaded Mexican subs—torta loca ($20)—all made using the same range of fillings and salsas. Golski and Montesinis are pressing their own soft corn tortillas for the tacos ($5/each), before topping them ‘al pastor’ with pork shoulder and tinned pineapple, or ‘carne de res’ with chuck steak. There’s also ‘pollo’ or chicken thigh that we ate over our thick corn masa disc adorned with beans, sour cream and salsa verde in our sopes ($8). Washed down with milky cinnamon-spiked horchata ($5/each) this was a fun but messy meal. I only wished for more heat!"
